I am definately not an old timer, but I believe you are talking about Devils slide. There are some web sites out there with pics of it back in the day. I would love to ride that!! I wouldn't doubt it if Da Beechman has snuck back there. Beech, where you at?????????

I hear that back in the day when times were ..... freer? (if that's even a word) that way deep in the heart of the Pismo dunes in CA there's this killer Comp. Hill. I wish an old timer would verify this for me.

I would like to see Devils Slide…. is at accessible or is it closed off, has anyone seen it recently? I just got back from Pismo & we camped pretty close to where they have the bj’s ATV rentals, we never camped so close to the entrance, but we said what the hell. The dunes right there are pretty big for Pismo, I never knew it had dunes that steep. Almost like a tiny version of glamis.

Oregon...
Like Big Bubba says..you'd have to come here to know. Can't put it into words. You'd have to experience them to know what we're sayin'

Oregon coastal dunes are the largest coastal dunes in the country. I've ridden there many times for the last 5 years in my Jeep, my Toy, and now my quad, and I've YET TO SEE THEM ALL. You can ride for DAYS and not see 1/2 of them. No exaggeration.

"For nearly fifty miles, from the mouth of the Siuslaw, to Cape Blanco at Coos Bay, the largest area of dunes in the country lies between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains. In places, the dunes extend 2.5 miles inland, and some are as high as 500 feet. In 1972, 32,186 acres of dunes, forest, streams, and lakes were set aside as the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area."
That's from an Oregon Dunes website.
