Default 04 Grizzly carb

I need to vent a little. I have an 04 Grizz and when it was a week old gas started pouring out of the hose on the bottom of the bowl. The dealer fixed it and said the needle and seat were dirty and sent me on my way. Now the machine has 20 hours on it and it is doing it again so I called the dealer and they were just closing so he told me if I want to go ahead and pull the bowl and clean the needle and seat. I pulled it apart and everything looked clean , But I cleaned it anyway and put it back together. It worked for about fifteen minutes and started doing it again. I am wondering if the float level is borderline high or if it needs a new needle and seat. I am sure the dealer will take care of me, But I don't like how my luck is starting out. Has Yamaha had a lot of problems with the carb on the Grizz ?? I talked to a different dealer and they said they had problems with the 03's even after putting a new needle and seat in so they started putting aftermarket ones in and had no more come back. Is there any truth to that ??

Default 04 Grizzly carb

I have a 2004 grizzly and I just got this problem for the first time, I Pulled apart the carb and found the needle stuck in the seat . had to give a good pull to get it out. I noticed the needle had some scoring on it, or corrosion,
I thought about just cleaning it up, but thought that since I had all that fun pulling all the parts off to remove carb that I would put a new needle and seat in. $26.00 I think I am going to find out about some type of fuel treatment to keep gas from eating up the carb.
hope this helped

haven't had this issue with my 02 Griz... I don't think the 04's carb is any different... Hmm.... My friend has an 02, and he hasn't had this problem either...
