Thats about all their mag is good for, that and if you dont have any TP.

 

Hi-torque publishing co. is a joke..... In the may issue they did say the Banshee was still King of the dunes, and now one month later it's the DS 650 that is SO GREAT! That rag is so bad I think the people who edit and publish the magazine must have dirt-brains........

 

What I dont get is wasn't the DS out for a couple of years now. If so why did it just now beat the shee

 

Well the DS changed in 04, ( it got a little shorter, narrower and lighter ) so there prolly using that as an excuse to give it top marks over the banshee. Like Polarisfreak said, how can you have a dune shootout without paddles?? I mean a banshee doesnt hook up as it is, so lets throw it in some sand and put it up against a much calmer 4-stroke engine without paddles. Now noone get me wrong I really like the DS but i think that everyone at Dirtwheels knew what they were going to write before they ever set on either of the machines, If they would have riddin them, they would know that the Banshee still the rightful owner of the dunes.

 

i gotta agree with all u guys about the mag, i think it all relates to advertising dollars, but heres the thing, these two quads are completely different in designs, power, suspension etc. etc.... and like you guys pointed out, UMMMM dune shootout huh, no paddles? retarded test riders? not even close to the same size engine? or suspension? might as well as had a snowmobile out there too, it's all about the $$$ folks, dirtwheels suk, lates....josh...

 

it never fails. whenever a new quad comes out, dirt wheels says it is "THE GREATEST QUAD EVER!!!"

Dont want to start anything but maybe that shootout was just between yamahas and which one of them was the best. Anywho, I think its kinda hard to compare them, they are both WAY different. The DS is a big bore 4 stroke, much bigger and wider, and has more suspension. The banshee is a twin cylinder 2 stroke thats smaller and lighter and can be made into an awesome machine. BUT stock for stock with all the same stuff you get on it at the dealership is probably how they picked the winner. Some people are just going to go by a machine and use it the next day. Thats JMO.
