i hear that the ds baja X is putting out 52hp stock, and the raptor is only 36 stock. why is this? can the raptor ever be as powerful or have as much potenial as the baja X?

 

Difference is not that great, and it's all about state of tuning.

well, if what us say is true, if the raptor is more powerful, it should go faster, because it weighs 105lbs less. but they say that the dsd has 52 to start out with and the rap only has 36. i know tho that the rap is all hidden power, like a pipe adds around 10 hp, and other mods add a lot, is it the same way with the ds?

 

Hate to say it, because I like yamaha, but that rotax motor is just a better motor.

 

Rear wheel horsepower on 01-03 models of Ds made anywhere from 38-42hp depending on the dyno. 04 model Ds makes 1-3hp more. 52hp is way off. Raptor rear wheel hp is around 35-38hp at the rear wheel. You also have to remember the Ds weighs more.

Both quads are corked up from the factory. Minor adjustments bring out hp.

The DS Wins in Stock Form, but when they both have minor mods the Raptor Wins.

 

but then again, mags are pretty off and bioists

 

The Raptor has more Hidden Power then the DS does but they both come from the factory chocked up. Raptor is more chocked up then the 650 is though
