The blaster manual recomends using premium gas which is 92, or 93. If you make the switch from lower to higher octane the shouldnt be a power difference unless your running above 93 octane. I first used 87 or whatever regular is and it sounded like my engine was knocking at high revs and temps so I looked through the manual and saw it said to use premium so I made the switch no more noise

I have run 93 in my Blaster for 11 years and it has done great. If you buy gas with water in it, don't be suprised to get spitting and sputtering out of your Blaster like i do.
