Warrior...No Spark?
I beleive my ignition coil is bad....the specs on the negative side are right of but the postive side show 000 so Im gonna buy a new one and see what happens...I tore it all down today and thats what I came acrossed..
btw...there are 2 small cracks in the stator cover....there is no leaks and there are barely cracks...its more like deap scratches almost...no problem?

Just something else to check...the kill switch,it could be defective inside, and grounds out the spark. Try disconnecting the plug that goes to the switch, and use an ohm meter to check the operation of the switch. I dont have a wiring diagram, and some switches are normally open, and some are normally closed, so when you check it, make sure one way is open and one way is closed. If its open in both directions, or closed in both directions, its bad.

I have had this problem sevaral warriors ago back in 1989, Its the clutch lever swicth thats needed to start the engine. it gets wet, allows the starter to turn over, but kills the ignition. To simply fix the problem find the two connectors under the front hood undo them from the switch and connect them together. (The plugs are already male and female comming from the wiring harness). WARNING after doing this the starter will turnover without pulling in clutch or while riding. good luck

Hmmm, must be something on the old ones.. because my 1996 model doesn't require that I pull in the clutch to start.. I can have it in neutral and it will fire up just fine... I think the clutch switch and the neutral switch must be working together then... one or both conditions have to be met.

ok, you need to try to clean the plug or get a new one .....the set the gap to whatever your manual tells you too .....if theat dosent work take a meter that measures electricity and stick bothof the little prongs in your spark plug cap that goes on top of it and hit your starter and see if it reads anything ....if it dosent that means your wiring is bad..

Did you check the stator against the specs I posted... if its out of spec its bad... although warm and cold will have effect on them. I had a stator that tested good, quad would run for about 5 minutes then quit. Stator would then test bad. Replaced stator all is well. If the stator tests good then go over your wiring loom. The engine requires the stator.. its not for starting it triggers the signal for spark, provides power and charges your battery (with the regulators help) , if just the charging coil was to fail it would run but not charge, if the source or trigger coil are faulty it will not run or will run like crap. Have you checked the wires that come from the stator where they plug into the main harness. All it takes is a bit of dirt/corrosion, I have even seen the wires come loose at the connectors...
Hope you find the problem.
