I was working on one a while back and I had the timming off one tooth advanced and it ran great but it made a bad pinging noise all the time. So I poped off the cam cover and tensioner and got it right and the noise went away.

Mine made a bad pinging noise before also..I forgot about this earlier...but It turned out that the valve adjustment tensoner was loose...snugged it down and never had any problem...make sure there tight...I had one fall down in my motor and made the timing chain sprocket no spin with the cam.....I had to buy a new cam...but me being a moron I bought a stock one

and yeah I'm sure it said .10mm for hotcams stage 1 for a warrior...

hey yamahawarriormod

Did you just put in the stage 1 hot cam or did you put a high comp. piston in too. I just put the cam and advance it one tooth and I can't really tell that much difference but mine also make's that weird noise the guy told me that it will do that so I just said OK.

I like it...I am not sure which I like better....they both seem normal to me....It takes some getting used to though....So if you do buy one, and you try it and don't like it...give it a good week of riding...I think you'll enjoy it...if not....you can always go back to the thumb....( I can't though...I broke mine in a wreck )....The thing that takes the longest about it getting used to is standing up and using it at like an off and on pace...but i got used to it...and I love it.
