Default blaster help

my friend got a blaster from his girlfriends parents and it has been sittin up for about 7 months, we drained the gas, shot some carb cleaner in the gas hole in the carb and put new gas in it. now everytime he kickstarts it, it will rev normal for a second then it will rev so high you have 2 cut it off
any ideas what we can do 2 fix it?

The high reving could be the carb cleaner you sprayed into the carb. Clean out the carb and check the throttle cable to make sure it isn't pulling anywhere.

75% of the time the leak is at the reed cage, get a torque wrech and tighten it to 6 ft lbs and it should be good to go, make sure the gasket isnt boogered up
