I know a friend that just bought the YFZ450 and he put a Yoshimura Carbon exaust on his and runs awsome. They run close to $800.00, but I'd say it's worth it. There's also the Titanium which runs closer to $600.00. I would reccomend the Yoshimura. I've also heard that White Bros. is the best to run on a yamaha. I have a white bros. e-series on my raptor and it runs great. I'd probably stick with the yosh though.

I am running a full Yoshi Tri Oval system and it works great. As far as what is the best I saw a couple sparks bikes this weekend they are running pretty good, I think that they are all pretty close. Anyways I am completely satisfied with Yoshi and here is a site for the Tri Oval full Yoshi for 399 + shipping http://motoxoutlet.com/index.asp?Pag...ROD&ProdID=204 well I hope that helps you out!

there is no best pipe. some people want bottom end and dont care about top end, some are the opposite. if you dont know where you want the power just buy any exhaust and you will be happy. just pick one in your budget and what brand you like and it will be just fine. Now if you are drag racing all the time and need to have the fastest bike than you may want to do a little more research. But if you trail ride and need a spark arrestor you may want to take that into account. I know that my Hmf that I ran was a good allround exhaust. It doesnt matter what brand it is if you dont get the rest of your bike dialed in!

well if you are concerned about topend here is some you might want to look at. LRD, Jardine, HMF, Curtis Sparks, ESR. that is not a order of how good they are. I know all of thoose pipes are good performers. I will not say that there is one that is better than all the rest and I bet there are some out there that I left out, I havent researched the alba or seen any run around here, but I have heard they are good, I bet they would be about the same as most of the ones I listed

I've never put much faith in 4-stroke pipes. I understand how a 2-stroke needs an expansion chamber and the shape of the chamber changes the pressure pulses back to the exhaust port to help hold the gas/air charge in the cylinder and not go out the exhaust.

I've always believed for a 4-stroke the less back pressure the better.... ...period. In my mind the ultimate 4-stroke exhaust would simply be a straight tube venting to atmosphere. The lower the resistance to flow out the exhaust means the less work the engine has to do to push the exhaust gases out.

I guess what my point is, I fail to see how 4-stroke exhausts can differ that much from manufacturer to manufacturer... ...there just isn't much to it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks.

i woudl agree with him, how many people watch drag racing? pro-street, real-street, top-fuel/dragsters. they just dump. My theory, anyone who can weld, and can get flanges, should make their own. I would like to see what they come up with. People make their own pipes for cars and motorcycles all the time, why not quads?
