Default Is this normal for a rebuild? Please help!!!

I just rebuilt my raptor to a 686. Is it normal for oil to come out of the oil tank breather hose? I didn't have my hose quite buttoned up tightly from the oil tank to the valve cover. The hose came loose at the valve cover and oil spewed everywhere. Also, I have gas coming out of the left carb. bowl hose at a constant drip even after the motor is off. I just converted the carbs to a dual feed setup...would this have anything do with it? Also, how do I know that I have good oil circulation or my oil pump is primed? Please help!!!

sounds like you may have to much of a gap in your rings letting it have to much blow-by creating pressure in your engine, which will make it leak. Or you could have to much oil in it, or a plug in the oil system somewhere. not sure about the gas leak but probally the dual feed set up, would be a good place to start.

I think it's normal to get some oil out of that hose.
You may have some crud on the needle or you need to readjust the float level.

Ernie660R helped me with the dual feed setup so I know what he is doing on the dual feed. The float could need readjusting although. They have been sitting up for almost two months. My bike is a 2003 so it is really not that old. The oil level was actually low on the dipstick when I checked it after I had to shut it down due the spewing oil. I put about a quart of oil in the top end and filled the oil tank before starting the new 686 so I think the low dipstick level is explainable. I had to turn the gas off to get the left carb from leaking. Any other possible explanations. Thanks in advance.
