What would a Cam have to do with Gas? The cam controls the valves a new piston may need atleast 95 or somthing but I haven't heard of a CAM needing a certain Octane..

Yeah i wrote that post on that Hot Cams require a 95 octane. I When i received my Hot Cam in the mail, the paperwork included in the package says to run 95 octane. I thought that was weird so i went on to Hot Cams web site, and on web page it also says to run 95 octane. With my set-up have i ran on anything under 95 octane, NO. Could you run pump gas on the Hot Cam, i have no idea, i only stated what hot cam recommends.

I mix VP 110 with pump 91 and i runs great on it. When i don't run 94 i can tell my bike doesn't like it. It sputters on just 91

What compression does your piston have that you think you need race gas or a mixture of that and premium?

I run a Wisco 666 bore with a 11:1 compression and i use 95 octane and have never had any problems with detonation.
