My new 2005 Grizzly
Congrats you made a great purchase! I'me an Italian Grizzly 2003 owner and i am really satisfaid. About the price...you, american friends are lucky! Think that the same Grizzly 660 cost in Italy more than 11.000 dollars! Sigh! Glad to be there in this wonderful forum!

I like it without the bar a lot better. I have it on right now cause it wheelies a lot better, but in technical terrain its a lot better with it off. I had it about a month and looked at the design and decided that it probably wouldn't hurt anything to take it off. Makes such a difference in articulation. I still had my swingaxle Arctic Cat at the time, and the first time I lined both quads up with one rear tire up on something, I almost puked. The AC was 10 times better than the grizzly. But taking the sway bar off evened them up almost. I still think the Arctic cat had better articulation, and its a straight axle (though different then everyone elses swingarm version). But of course the AC didn't have the ground clearance the Grizzly has. I've had it off there for almost 3 years now, and I can't find any signs that removing it hurts the quad any. I did stiffen up my springs to the 2nd highest setting when I took it off though.

You're right Andy, sure no hurts will be without the bar. I don't know Arctic cat, here in Italy never saw this quad. Recently i saw a outlander 400, and i have to say that this quad has really the best articulation i ever saw on a quad. But...is the only thing i like about this quad. My grizzly is still the best. Arctic cat has a straight axle quad with a quad link type suspension that allows the axle to articulate at each tire rather than the standard swingarm that just moves up and down together as a unit. Granted it doesn't have the ground clearance you get with an independant, but the articulation is almost as good. Its an extremely stable system. Most people call it semi-independant, because while the wheels don't move independantly, they still have the articulation that other straight axles are without. Its a good system. Best straight axle you can buy.
