just put a yoshi full exhaust on my rap
jetted the carb 160/165 as recommended by yamaha
it seems to run strong except for slight hesitation early on the throttle
is my jetting wrong?
also the head pipe turns blue right away is this normal?
i cant iimagine im to lean maybe to rich?

followed recom from gytr jet kit
took it out this morning and it is loading up ( i think) on the low end
it does clear itself out when i get going
im i to rich? im afraid to lean it out without some good info

my friend got a yoshi slip on, and if u nailed the gas it would kinda hesitate just for a tiny bit of a sec tho, then it was fine, and only if u really punched it, it was a slight hesitation. i heard something to do with valves was a possible problem.

You're jetting sounds good, I'm assuming you're below 3000' elevation. You should need to be 2 1/2 - 3 turns out on the air/fuel screws each side which is what you say your at. You say your needle is on the 3rd/middle groove which is good. I'd say try putting the needles one groove different at a time, either higher or lower until you've tried all positions. Keeping the needles on the same groove as the other each try. Also double check the diaphrams in the top of the carbs for tears and the carb boots themselves for tears etc. Do you run with the lid or no lid on the air box? Can you take it off and try without it? Hope you get it figured out.
