Default Alba?

I was wondering if anyone runs the Alba pipe or has heard anything good about it.
Obviously I am thinking about getting one.

Its a Really good Pipe, Its Extremely loud, you should see around a good 10HP gain from the StageIII... High Quality, if your looking for a Chrome Pipe/Header, it would be hard to upkeep, as far as using like mothers chrome polish or Mirror Bright as they say to use...Its supposedly durable, but i would think that it would only look good for those first few rides... Whats nice is that it gives the raptor a good smooth look like the GYTR Header does, because it eliminates the use of the Stock Gauty heat shields...I still like the GYTR CF Full system better....even more then the Yoshimura CF Full System i had...
Hope this helps...

Dirtwheels Mag did a Raptor Pipe Shootout...
Pipe-Shootout

Alba made the stock 35.6@6500....go up to 46.1 @7400rpm 102db

I dont think Alba makes a Silencer for that like Yamaha does for the GYTR...so its going to be staying really loud=)
Alba makes high quality products, i have there Billet Shifter, and its great, i think better then the Roll Design. It cleans up all if any of the slop in the linkage, and gives me a really solid/positive shift feel. I also have Alba Carbon Fiber gas tank cover, its supposedly made by them, if it is i give them props, they did a good job...I just say all of this for those of you that my not like Alba and or there Products. I have had nothing but good from them so far.

Hope this helps...

Sweet thanks, I have heard the alba with the sparkarrestor on and it sounds awesome. I think that it sounds better than any other pipe out there. I also like the price that they have posted on $460 for a full stage 1 kit, with pipe spark arrestor, uni filter and adapter plus the jets to get it going. I also saw that later on if I want to upgrade to a Stage 3 with no spark arrestor and lid and bigger jets it only cost aanother $120.

Is that a good deal compared to other pipe kits?

Well your baseing your decision on how it sounds, and yes it will look cool...but you may want to go another rout. The CF GYT-R Muffler looks and sounds twice as sick as the alba. Just my opinion, i have heard many other ppl tell me this also, and i am not just saying this because i have it. I had a Yoshimura Comp 3 Full CF System, This past winter when my 04 Raptor was covered in the garage, a mouse ate my entire muffler, and pulled all the packing out, and destroyed everything, my seat and all...i had to make an insurance claim, and i had 2000, in damage seat rear fender, full exhaust....well i ended up getting the GYT-R instead of the comp 3 again, because of the gains i have heard of and how good it looked. I dont by any means want to confuse you here because this is just what i have heard and this is only my opinion. The Chrome on the alba will be EXTREMELY hard to keep nice, especially if you ride it ONCE where there is mud, mud SPLASHING onto the header and pipe, will Cake on there and it will be a mess, and the more it happens it will have a sandpaper effect on it, time after time it will wear down and look bad....you can wash it and polish it but in my mind its too much maintainence.

My GYT-R stays nice, all i do it hit it with the hose, after plugging the end, and then wipe it dry. Stays looking like new ride after ride. and it does get dirty. If your into dunes i would say go for it, the pipe will stay really nice, and sound great. Pipes all pretty much perform the same due to the Header Diameter, i belive the only one with a hair bigger diameter is the Yoshimura, but its not even knowticeable...You could do just a slip on and find a better place to put your few bills, that is unless you have a modded motor, then i have heard the header helps. Yamaha i trust, they are not going to make a nice performance pipe for nothing, you know they have time, technology and much research behind it. Besides i have found thus far they will stand behind there products, ESPECIALLY THE GYT-R Parts. Lastly i will say for the same amount of money you can get the GYT-R system...299 for muffler 199 for header. The decision is yours.

I hope this helps,

The Alba pipe is a good pipe. You won't get more for your money from another pipe. You get the filter, jet kits and the pipe for less than what most pay for just a pipe. I used 18 disks for a long time not the recommended 12 and the sound is very good. I now run the open end cap and it is much louder. There may be a few pipes out there that give you more peak hp but it won't be by much. There are pipes out there that will look better but, then again, you'll only get the pipe for more money. Alba is a better choice than many, imo.

I think that I am going to go with the alba pipe because im not really into getting my quad dirty and I really dont have money to spend on another pipe plus all the other stuff that I would need like a filter, filter adapter and jet kit. To get all of that from GYTR it would cost about $700. With alba its only $460.

Thanks though you guys have been a great help.

Yea i would agree, there prolly isnt a better pipe out there that comes with such options that the alba does. I didnt consider any of the other aspects such as jetting being around 170 dollars if you dont do it yourself, 50 for just the kit, and silencers.....ect so actually 460 is a really good price compared to others.
