Default Blaster 240 jetting

Here i sit at my computer covered and wreaking of gasoline (kinda starting to get a headache). So where do i begin. I have a blaster with bill's pipe and silencer, vito's degree key, delta v-force reed system, 28 mm mikuni carburetor, k&n pod filter, and some other stuff that i can't rememer right now, oh yea and a vito's 240 complete cylinder kit (which is right now the cause of all my sorrows). So i got the 240 kit installed but i can't seem to get the jetting right. I called vito's and they said that i should use their red banshee needle with my 28 mm mikuni carb. So i bought vito's banshee needle and installed that with a 220 main jet and 60 pilot jet. I went through all the different settings and found that the blaster ran best with the needle in the lean position, that is, it ran best when i was sitting there and just revving it. But as soon as i put it in first gear and started to move it had no power...nothing. I fon't know what to dooooo!!! Is it the needle or the jet? should i jet bigger smaller? or what? Or should i change the needle, i have vito's blue needle as well? WHAT SHOULD I DO!! i've done everything vito's has suggested and i'm ready for some new suggestions...how should my carb be set up? I be out in the garage waiting for replies.....THANKS!!

Sounds like a 60 pilot jet could be a little rich. What was the stock pilot jet? I would go down to a 40 or 30. I ran a 35 pilot and a 230 main on my 30mm mikuni's on a banshee though.

I would go back to your stock jet and raise it 2 sizes and start there. Use the factory needle until you get the MAIN jet right first. You might (might) need the next size up pilot jet from stock. THen what you feel you are lacking in little spots of the power band, use the needles to adjust that. Do this and see what happens. You are just putting money in VIto's mexican pocket!

well a 60 is what came in the carburetor when i bought it and thats what i ran before i even had the 240 kit and the fourwheeler ran great...i'm completely lost now and i don't know what to do...if someone could just go through how in god's name u jet a carburetor, like when i know whether or not i need to go bigger or smaller on the pilot and main jet and when i need to go leaner or richer on the needle and what parts of the power band each change in everyone one of those would make...does that make sense?
