Default INTAKE QUESTION

Ok. I am ready to get my intake setup. I plan on running the full yoshi system but I am gonna have to do it in steps. First comes the intake. I ride dirt roads and sandbars mostly so I want something that filters well. Should I go with a K&N with no lid, or sixsixt's setup with dual filters and no lid? (BTW, do I have to have the adapter for the k&n) I want to add the crankcase mod too so I'll do that at the same time. Once I add the filter setup what should I jet to. And is there any jet setup I can use that I can just add the head pipe and canister later on without having to change the jets?

Yo sixsixt, anyway I could get one of those brackets to mount the case breather on?

yes you need the adaptor for the k&n
as far as jetting that usually depends on your elevation and mods, so
i think that you will have to re-jet once you put on exhaust system

If you ride alot in wet and muddy conditions or creek crossings I would keep the air box. If not, eliminating the air box is good for about 1.5 HP compared to the box without a lid.

If it's dusty use foam if it's sandy use a K&N.

If you keep the box and use a pro flow adapter and filter just leave the air box like it is stock until you get a pipe and then mod the box and rejet when you put the pipe on. If you eliminate the air box you'll need to rejet now and again when you put a pipe on.

(BTW, do I have to have the adapter for the k&n) There is a stock replacment K&N but I wouldn't use that set up. You have to either run the lid or bolt it on, either way the seal isn't very good.

Thanks six, thats helps alot. I would still like to get the adapter for the crankcase breather like you have. Are they hard to make or can I buy one somewhere?
