I thought about putting a twist throttle on my rap but I considered the fact that when you hit jumps or bumps that throttle can twist pretty easy. I dont wanna hit ground and have my quad fly out from under me, lol. I may still try it and see how i like it but for now I like the thumb lever.

i just picked up a 2002 Banshee 2 weeks ago and it had a twist throttle on it. i imediatly took it off for the reasons Phrophecy said. when you hit jumps and bumps it tends to make the throttle twist. also think about it, if your riding and start to come off the back the reaction is to grab the bars tighter, as your falling back and holding the throttle your twisting it more and thus dumping yourself off the bike quicker. thats just hypothetical but could happen.
i bought a $60 suzuki thumb throttle (stock yama is over $100) and refit the cable to work. id leave the twist throttles to dirt bikes and guys who have more riding experience.

Yeah Flyinbryan's right, someone actually wrote an article on it that explains body position and twist throttle relation... pros/cons. I used to ride an LT500r with a twist not as bad as you would think but it wasnt MX...

...yep, happened to my buddy, went to cross a creek, he was the last one, came up the bank, and twisted the throttle back by trying to hod on, the quad shot up the bank, hit a tree, and luckily, spun back around on its tires. At that point, he said he'd rather have thumb throttle. Originally posted by: Armageddon
