Like warwgn says, the sat photo cuts off a lot of the riding area, and it doesn't do justice to the hills out there. I ride out there every Sunday. Vtwiner, give it a second chance. Stay out of the parking lot, try the arroyo, try the hills further west from the parking area.
Anyone ever head thru ALQ with their 4-wheeler, give it a try.

 

You have to go out there with a guide there is so much riding area its amazing!!!! The hill are twice the size and steepness of Montessa.
