just wondering what is the average cost to take your stock raptor to a 686, not including suspension, just talking labor, parts, machine work for the engine itself, everything to get the engine to run good as a 686.

$1600 is the basic Craycraft 686.

My set up with the carb's, replacing the rod, having the crank balenced and the whole nine yards is around 2800-3000.

1600, does that include machine work, port and polish, exhaust, jet kits, all the stuff required to make a 686 run, or is that just the piston and cam and basic stuff??

I saw some weird, probably bottom line 686 kit on ebay, for like 400. I believe it included a cylinder, piston, cams, and maybe some weirdo pipe too.

Mine was around $2400 all done including all the labor and, Dyno tuning it afterwards! But not including the $200 each way to ship my whole bike out to Mesa AZ.

I've seen 1600 + at everyother place and, that is no labor (you get the peices to put in yourself), no dyno and, trusting yourself w/ timing, tuning torqueing and, adjustments. My complete motor was torn down to pieces and, built back up including new Carillo Rod, bigger valves, stiffer valve springs, cam, HD clutch/springs, porting, boring, 686 piston, jetting the carbs. READY TO GO!

I think I got a special price seeing Kenz Cycle Tech wanted to get their name (and, Power) out to the Midwest. But thier pricing, service and, turn around is 2nd no none! And, their end result is amazing!

I'll do it again (if i ever need more) when the other start to catch up,,,,,,, well, after the divorce... LOL

i had mine done at c&d racing in north platte nebraska. they specialize in 400 ex's but did mine anyway. For a 12 to 1 piston, hotcams stage 2 with springs, port and polish including labor was around a 1000 dollars. they dont have tons of expeirence with raptors but do have alot of expeirence with 4 stroke motors. I was beating about 95% of all bikes at walden this year and that includes banshees and yfz450's
