Help me with some jetting on the YFZ---K&N with lid off...thats it for now-no S/A removal suggestions..cam mod suggestions, just a K&N with lid off at 1000 feet above sea level.

Stock main is what size? and should be jetted to what?

Pilot--same question?

Needle clip position..same question..

My buddy has a stock YFZ and he's gonna do the cam mod and pipe down the rode and is just wanting some jetting recomendations with lid off/K&N...

with just a lid remove and filter, and no exhaust ur probobly gonna go up maybe 1 size on the main, and i wouldn't even touch the rest. maybe a 1/8th turn richer on the screw.

If you change your air intake/flow that much your going to want to richen your pilot jet circuit. My buddy had a yfz and even from just pulling the pea shooter out(Spark arrestor) he needed to raise the pilot jet. Just read your conditions. If it farts and pops after you do the modifications, then you'll have to adjust the jetting. Jetting is trail and error and you'll never get it "right" with recommendations. You'll only get it "close"......

45 pilot
162 or 165 main

good starting point considering your running the K&N

You will require fine tuning no matter what anyone suggests.. but that should put you in the ball park


157 main, 42 pilot are stock

 

I would put a 165 main. If you keep the stock needle go to the 5th clip.
