well, unless your engine is making some decent power, you will notice your engine will bog down a bit more because the lighten flywheel doesnt have as much momentum as it did before. So if u lighten the flywheel but dont have enough power, you might actually be slower say climbing a hill or anytime you put a load on the engine, but if you will just be putting around, you will notice it does rev quicker.

ravencr-I just had a 690 raptor built and part of that build was a lightened flywheel and i am very pleased with the results. With the lightened flywheel i have much quicker throttle response and my power comes on very much as a two stroke does.

That's what I'm hoping would happen, althoug I may be rethinking this mod since I do a lot of slow speed rocky terrain. I'm not sure yet though. Did you have yours milled down or did you actually buy a lighter flywheel from somewhere, because I can't find a company that makes them yet?

it's goona be more like a chain saw hehe...powroll makes one, and they wil make em to order too. harder to tune, hard to idle smoothly, i'm not sure it's worth it. let us know how it goes.

once an engine is at idle is doesn't need extra power to rev,so all
velocity and accurate crank position is balanced by the flywheel mass,
by lightening it up,less rotating mass so less extra weight to pull the engine through the crank so quicker revving and a lot harder to stop for the motor once let off the gas cauze of the overrev,so it stall.
