Blaster rod replace..

Default Blaster rod replace..

how hard is it to pull the crank out of a blaster.. me and a budduy are planin on redoing it in a friends blaster.. j/w if thre is any specail tools. .and how easy it is.. means its a little 2cycle.. i know its a PITA for a 4stroke.. so not sure.. wanted to see if it was worht it.. its like a 94 blaster.. its purple/blue i think

Default Blaster rod replace..

i just had all that stuff u see down there done to it i tried taking the crank out and i couldent do it so i had someone do it for me at a local dealer ship it cost me $1420 but just for labar it was close to $800 they charged me $75 an hour ya thats alot. i just got the bike back yesterday.

we r going it for a friend and want it done as cheap as possible.. if i need the tools i can probly get them.. going to get a clymers manual b4 we start

Default Blaster rod replace..

Take it to a professional. I know it will cost more but your be glad you did in the end. What you can do to save money is do as much as you know how. Remove the motor, take off the side cases, sprocket, flywheel, stator, and even the top end right down to the piston. Then take it to a shop and all they have to do is split the case and change the rod. It will probably save you 2 hours in labor costs.

splitting the cases isn't nearly as hard as people make it seem. buy a clymer and it will walk you through everything you need to do to split the cases. Take the crank out and let a professional put in a new rod though unless you or one of your buddies knows his stuff.

sure splitting the cases is not hard, but putting them back together without proper experience and tools such as a press to install the crank into the let case half, and a press to install the main bearings, that's something the average quad owner doesn't have.
