Default Bruin tranny trouble

I recently bought a 2005 Bruin 350 and am having some transmission trouble, the machine ran and drove great for the first 70 kilometers or so, then while coming down a rocky slope I noticed a clunking sound coming from the lower left side of the tranny it only seems to do this in really rough terrain but will also do it when doing a sudden stop from about 30kmh when using the rear brake pedal, the problem only seems to be happening when the machine is in two wheel drive, I should mention that the performance of the machine has in no way changed, it runs great and theres no lack of power or acceleration. If any body can help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to ATV Connection. The noise that you are describing sound alot like the clunking sound all of us Kodiak owners are hearing. We are using the same type transmission. I was told that this sound is normal and harmless. Someone refered to it as slack in the drive line. I'm not exactly sure if this is what is really is or not but it kind of feels like that. And yes i only notice it in 2wd and when I brake hard with the rear brakes. So I've had mine since 02 the noise has not gone away or gotten worse. You can ask you dealer if you like but he is likely going to tell you its normal. However it the sound changes have it checked out.
