Default could slipping clutches cause overheating????

i was riding my 98 warrior today it seemed to get hotter than usual. It has been hot outside but i didnt run it that long. i was doing some jumps on a gravel pile and i would do 3 or 4 jumps then run it around for a couple minutes to let it cool down so i dont think it overheated. I know the clutches have been slipping but the exhaust tone seemed to change a little and it raps out better now but it doenst seem to have the power it did. i cant tell if the wheels are just not spinning or if its something else. I am lost on what caused this but could the clutches have just gotten worse and be causing this?? like i said im lost and need ideas. by the way it was just rebuilt about 2 months ago with a wiseco 10.25-1 .40 over piston so i dont think its the rings or hopefully not anyway......help appreciated

sounds like a jetting problem.. the hotter it is the leaner you will run.. and the lack of power could be the jetting also and when it runs lean it tends to heat up alot quicker..

good point with the hotter the leaner^^makes sense that it runs better after about 30 minutes. It must have gotten really hot i guess, it was about 95 here and tons of humidity, maybe thats why it ran different but im still concerned about the power thing. Hopefully itll be fine tomorrow and i didnt fry the rings. Definately hoping that its the clutches thats causing the loss.
