Default Is the YFZ450 ESR pipe Heavy?

I just saw the recent YFZ pipe shootout in DW and noticed the ESR pipe was as heavy as stock! What's up with that??

Maybe because they just recently started making 4 stroke pipes and have no clue?

I was looking at the sept DIRTWHEELS today and it reminded me of this thread.
In the ESR ad you can see an end shot of the spark arrestor.
This is a old proven suppertrapp setup.Heavy but it is approved.
The big plus to this is you can have one muffler and change it from performance
to spark arrested quickly. The other drawback to this used to be that the exhaust
could and would melt your fender and blacken your grab bar.
Nice job on the deflector!

I am gonna have to disagree with that statement. I have an esr pipe on mine right now and my buddy's have sparks and rossier. My favorite out of the 3 are Rossier, Sparks and then Esr. Don't get me wrong i like the Esr pipe but it was a b!tch to install. It also burns the **** out of my leg where the Rossier and Sparks dont(they do but not as bad).

If you are not going to run the spark arrestor end cap weight is not a issue.

i would recommend the dr. d, it's way lighter, sounds better than stock, and wakes up your YFZ.
