Default High-Performance ATVs For Adults!!!!

It would be a blessing if they made atvs for adults (21yrs old or older). This legal gag order of setting the top speed of 75mph for so-called high performance atvs just sucks & it's ashame that the manufacturers are not doing anything about it. Only in the ATV World of limitation!!!!!!

A-men Brother!

It would be sweet to see them make an R1 Quad that would be on or off road! Kinda like the Enduro style motorcycles. Sure people would get hurt and killed but you have that on the bikes as well!

I have seen quads on e-bay with mods like ......Raptor with the engine from an R6 or Banshees with engines from a GSXR. I would like to eventually put something like that together. Does anyone know how these run/work would it be a beeyoch of a mod?

The Quads with Streetbike motors run real good, depending if they are done right.

I would love to see something like this too but, they'd have to keep the weight down!!! The Streetbike motored quads i see are giant pigs and, can do nothing but drag. There will be no jumping on these lead sleds!

Find a way to get high HP out of a small tight package and, you got a winner! And, I'm in line at the Stealer that day!

By the way, why don't we see 800, 900, and, 1000cc - 2, 3, and, 4 cylinder engines on quads but, for snowmobiles it is ok? Also, these new snow moblies willl do 150mph+ easy???? And, 160HP Supercharged Jetskis are ok?? Just as long as it is not a quad??? THAT SUCKS!

Well, here is the problem with your idea: What is the Grizzly designed for? I know Yamaha engineers didn't create the grizzly around a 12 year old rider. However, I can't count how many times I have seen a 12 year old on one. I've seen many 12 years olds on raptors, 450's, banshees, etc. What is going to keep them from being on an R6 powered bike? Then you are right back to the late 80's when everyone is suing.

Basically, without there being age limits for certain sizes set up by the government, we would not have the raptors, 450's, 660 grizzlys, etc that we ride today. Since the government put a limit on sizes, people were less able to sue if their kid was hurt because the government already told them the bike was too big for their kid. If the size limits weren't in affect, people would have continued to sue until the manufactures stopped building them, or the biggest motor would have been a 350 for utilities and 250 for sports.

Also, I have seen 16 year olds that have never rode before get a raptor or banshee. Why do they want one of them for their first bike, because they are the fastest. This is one of the reasons I feel the 450 is higher priced. When you buy a 450, you know what it is capable of even though the motor is smaller. If you offered a 600 4 cylinder and it was the talk of Dirtwheels, how many 16 year olds would be talking their parents into one of them.

Tell me what is practical about a quad that goes 100 mph. You can't moto-X it, you can't trail ride it, are you gonna drive it to work, NO. You cant ride full a$$ throttle all the time in the dunes unless you are on a death wish. There are very few time you would ever want to go that fast, unless its a straight line drag that is very smooth. If you are not happy with 80 then buy a bike.

What do you mean? It would be perfect! Hell yea I would ride it to work! (I've rode my Rappy to work before) If it was a street legal bike that could be run off road as well! That would be AWESOME... Ride it to work then go riding after! I could sell my truck and trailer! I could ride it to the drags, ride it to work, trail ride.... PERFECT!

But the bad thing is that some idiot is going to go buy his son one that is 15 and he is going to wrap it around a tree.

Sure you can ride it to work but not at a 100 mph. I have had mine pegged 6th on pavement probably around 80 and it didn't feel very safe. I would rather have two wheels under me where I could respond to a hazard than 4 wheels that would roll if you tried to avoid something in your way. But its cool and like you said you would see a news paper article about a preteen hitting a tree at 100 without a helment on and sue the manufacturer for it.
