Best way to set the mix screw is to warm up the motor, then run it up to speed in 2nd or 3rd gear, then let off the throttle without touching the clutch, if the motor pops or backfires a litttle, open up the mix screw a quater turn, then retest. Once you can let off the throttle with no pops as you coast, it should be set right. If you need to go out more than 3 1/2 turns, you may need a bigger pilot jet.

As stated in my first post, if it pops or backfires on decelleration, you need to turn it out a little at a time until the popping stops.

The two turns out is a starting point. You have to fine tune it from there. Screwing out, is richer, and turning in is leaner. This adjustment, will only effect the idle circuit.
