THIS IS A LINK TO A WOLVERINE WITH A BLOWN MOTOR. THERE IS A PICTURE OF THE MOTOR OUT, WHICH SHOWS THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT STILL IN TACT, AND THE FRONT SLIP YOKE STILL ATTACHED. I HOPE THIS HELPS.

That tells me that you can pull the motor without disonnecting the drive shaft.....Which def. helps! Thanks...Now all I have to do is try to figure out how to pull both of them out at the same time.....They do not leave you much room to work on that bike.

I DO NOT REMEMBER WHEN I LAST LOOKED AT MINE, BUT MAYBE IF THE FRONT DISCONECTS AT THE DIFFERENTIAL, THEN THAT SHAFT WILL SLIDE OUT OF THE YOKE ATTACHED TO THE ENGINE. THEN IF YOU PULL THE FRON OF THE ENGINE OUT SOME YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO PULL THE REAR SHAFT OUT OF THE HOUSING?

LET US KNOW IF YOU FIGURE IT OUT PAST THAT.

The easiest way to do it is to leave the wheels on it and block it up in the air and pull the rear swingarm straight off. To do this you have to take two large bolts out that are located on each side of the engine on the frame, they are 6mm allen head bolts, and you will need to take a bolt out of the top off the shock to take it loose from the frame. Its a 17mm. The front drive shaft can easiest be taken out if you loosen the bolts bottom engine side of the front diff. so that it will move up and down and it will give you the needed slack on the U-joint to slide the shaft right out.

After everything is disconnected, turn the engine counter-clockwise to the left, judging as if you were sitting on the seat. It will come right out with a little wiggling. Remember to label and sort your bolts where you know where they go when its time to put it back together.

Thanks for all the help guys...I got the motor off and now I just have to figure out what the prob is with it....put new rings and gaskets in it. When you try to turn the motor over it locks up but you can still turn it backwards....I am not sure yet but I have a feeling the timing is just so bad off that the Piston and the valve are hitting

Timing is simple. Remove both the cam gear cover and the timing plug cover on the left side (while seated) on the bike. The flywheel will have a "T" inscribed on it. This means the piston is at Top Dead Center. While holding the crank in this position, the cam gear timing mark (a line on the gear basically) pointing up towards a mark on the head. If I remember correctly the mark in the head is actually at about "11:30" if you look at it much like a clock.

Hope this helps.
