my shift forks, that are sitting on the floor in my shed rite now, disagree with any clutchless shifting.

Well, I've built trannies and road raced for 20 years bueller. I've also had a YFZ for a year and I do not clutch it during full out racing. I do when the RPM's are not up, but not when I'm slinging it. My tranny is PERFECT. Now, where is YOUR evidence? You broke a fork because you did not do it correctly, simple as that. That's your evidence, fine. You broke a fork because you were under load and you probably had it pinned. I'll bet your gears look wonderfull too. Full rebuild!!! Sorry your parts are on the floor while mine are showing no signs of wear. On second thought, if you don't know what you are doing, Sally shift. It will live to ride another day. That's the best advice.

BTW all dirt bikers power shift but they do pull some clutch in. That's full nuts on, tap of clutch. That will break a fork and strip a gear 10 times faster. I guess they just wanna race.

i know the whole technique behind clutchless shifting, i've been doing it ever since i had my YZ. i would never shift when i had a load on the tranny either. i didnt even do it that much, only when i was doing wheelies because there was no time to clutch. What i would do is nail the throttle to have the bike go back a little bit too far to give me time to shift and by the time i shifted the front end would be rite around blalance point again so i could get back on the gas. were do u see excessive stress coming from. no matter how u clutchless shift eventually it will come back to get you, abviously 3 years of it was the limit for me.
