wiseco piston break in process

Default wiseco piston break in process

i just put a standard wiseco piston in my warrior and i was wondering how long i have to break it in and how to break it in?any help appreciated thanks

Keep it under half throttle for a couple hours and don't let it get hot. it doesn't hurt to give it full throttle just make sure not to keep it revved out, only jab it. After that, GIVE IT HELL! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I agree with the website http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm about a quick/hard break in makes more power down the road but I disagree with the fact that he says heat cycling is not necessary & that people confuse it with heat treating, huh, not even the same concept!
Heat cycling is necessary because metal expands when heated & contracts when cooled. Maybe his research has proven that the engine doesn't need heat cycling to break in but I think he needs to show more technical results as opposed to just saying that "the engine looks cleaner when dissambled" when broken in hard.
JMO....
