Default Warrior Float Adjustment

I am having a problem adjusting my carb on my 89 warrior. Everything is stock and now there are many new parts. The problem was that the quad would sputter at high speed (5th and 6th gear wide open) then slowly started to affect the whole throttle range. The quad would warm up and idle fine but as soon as it was warmed up and you reved it up, it would backfire and sputter. I have rebuilt the carb with all new parts, had it apart many (10) times, new valve job and rings, newer muffler (still all stock), new plugs, new coil, new carb to head boot, new clutch switch, new accelerator spring, etc.. It doesnt have a rev limiter like I see talked about in other threads. I can get it to run by pulling off the air box riser tube and covering the inlet hole by half or more. I know, "sounds like you got an intake leak", but i've sprayed the whole bike with starter fluid and no idle change. I've set everything according to factory specs but it doesnt help. I've tried every needle position I've could. I think now (maybe) it could be the float? I've set that to factory spec (.42-.52 in) but no difference. Where should the float level be? I've heard the float position is very critical. My overflow tube is clear so what i do is lift up the bottom of the tube above the carb and open the drain screw. This shows me the level of the gas in the bowl. It is about to the top of the bowl when the float is adjusted to spec. How does the coasting enrichner circuit work? Help! I'm giong crazy.
