Default Grizzly problems

Can someone please tell me what else can be wrong and/or what to check and/or replace to correct the following problem: My Grizzly 660 (2003) back fires twice and then dies. I have to wait about 5-8 min before the bike will re-start. It'll run for again, then it will do the samething. It's already been rejetted and the heat kit has been installed. Nothing else has worked to date.....second post.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING???????????????????

hey goldie this may be a stupid question.but did you make sure your not running with the fuel off.if thats not it check all of your lines(fuel and air intake) if it stops after running for awhile, then its starving for air or gas.another alternative could be a glogged jet in the carb.if that doesnt work call your local dealer and ask him.......

Default Grizzly problems

Hopefully it is something this simple, ... but there is a check ball inside the gas cap that can get stuck. When that happens the gas tank cannot vent, and after a few miles the engine will run lean, briefly, before quitting. When it runs lean it backfires once or twice, and then quits. This happened to my '03 Grizzly, and my wife's '04 Grizzly. On the '03 Grizzly it took me a while to figure out what was causing it, because when the engine would die it would not restart. But after I sat and fiddled with things for a while it would start just fine, and run for a few more miles before doing the same thing over again. I eventually figured out that the thing I needed to do when stopped and fiddling with my Grizzly, was simply remove the gas cap and put it back on again, and that would fix the problem. That was when I took the gas cap apart and found that little check ball, which I promptly tossed in the trash. That fixed the problem for ever. And when the problem happened the first time on my wife's '04 Grizzly, we removed the check ball right then and there, out on the trail, with our tool kit we had with us. And hers has never done it again either.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input. The fuel is on and I already checked the gas cap and bearing. I think I'll toss the bearing too. The bike is now back at the dealership, and I stressed to the dealer to inform the district service manager that this is the 4th and final time that the bike will go for repair. Change whatever has to be changed. If they think it might be something, change it too. I also got the impression that Yamaha Canada are now pushing to find the problem. For their sake I hope they find and fix the problem. I spoke with the shop tech, and explainned first hand the problem and he had a feeling that the valves need to be verified. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
The problems have ruined most of my summer riding, and my impression of Yamaha. I'm still hopeful this one last time.

I will keep everyone informed.
