How to buy new tires?
#1
Hey guys.. I have the stock rims on my raptor and the tires are worn down. How do i go about replacing them? I think the rim is 9 x 8.5 AT. What does that mean? and on the tire it says AT 22 x 10-9. What does that mean? I looked on rockymountainatv.com and there are all different numbers.. such as 20x11x9 6ply would thoes fit on my rims? or do the mesurments have to mention 22 x 10-9.
Thanks in advance!

In a 20X11X9 description, the 20 is the tire diameter, the 11 is the tire width, and the 9 is the rim diameter. You can change the tire diameter and the width(to a certain extent) but can not change the rim size unless you go get different rims. Hope this helps.

9 is the rim diameter. 8.5 is the rim width. The stock Raptor tire size is 20x10x9. Most replacement come in 11" width. ie. 20x11x9 or 22x11x9 etc. I just haven't noticed many replacement tires with a 10" width anyway.

Rim width and tread width are two different things. Like I said, the stock tire was 10 inches wide, not 8.5. One more inch in width will be fine. They just belly out a little more. I'm currently running 22x11x9's on my Raptor. (Which I don't recommend unless you need clearance)
