what I was saying is once the motor revs to a point you start losing hp
all a limiter does is increase the rpm of the engine by 1000 rpm and change the power curve a little
I changed the one on mine and it made no difference at all except higher revs
and yes he will get more speed but very little if any additional hp

cool. my buddy has a yfz and is thinking of the rev limiter
he says it runs out of power and it feels like its wanting more
he piped and jetted it and had the timing retarded 1 tooth and gained 7 hp
theres a guy here in phoenix who runs the baja with a yfz he did it for him
but for now it needs more revs
thanks for the info

Dyno' are fairly accurate in the sense that they read fairly close when the same model/elevation/weather is permitted. 25hp may not seem like a lot but a stock z400 for example reads 25 horse on my dyno being a jet lean. A 330r dyno's 40 horse and a big name 686 with im guessing 3k in motor work made 47hp. Thats pretty consistant for me. You guys calling out 50 horse for a piped and jetted yfz are kidding yourself. You may get it on an older dyno but stepping up to a brand new dyno wont give you the smiles you all think you are deserving.
A dyno IS a tuning tool and nothing more. torque which is used to calculate HP is not measured in MPH, but rather in engine rpm.
Bubba, your 25 horse can be a factor of many things. It could have been an improper setting in the software or an incorrect primary pickup. Im still learning myself.
