Default Yamaha Breeze - Strat problems

Hi,

I have a Yamaha Breeze (don't know what year it is) and it has an intermittent starting problem.
1) If left for a couple of weeks the battery gets completely drained and it won't start, although the battery is new. Is this normal or is there a problem with it.
2) The other start problem is that although the battery is fully charged it still will not always start - It makes the sound of the starter motor spinning but it does not engage. Does this mean I need a new starter motor or is the problems something else?

Also is there any where I can get a service manual for free/cheap

Thanks for any help.

i am not sure about your battery..it might be your electrical connection somewhere..do you leave the key in it? you might have forgot to turn it off? im not an electrition... however your start problems might be the oneway bearing in your starter.. does it rotate and then lock up? if so thats most likely the problem..

you can get a manual for it at your local shop..im not sure about prices a good manual to get is a Clymer service manual

Hi elraptor02,

I don't leave the keys in it and I have even made sure that the light switch is off (that and the starter are the only electrics on it!!).

however your start problems might be the oneway bearing in your starter. does it rotate and then lock up?
I think it’s the opposite; it just spins freely and does not engage!

There is a starter clutch inside the drive belt cover. It get dirty and gums up and causes this problem. I just took mine apart, cleaned it, and put some WD40 on it and everything works fine again. You can look at a diagram at www.worldofpowersports.com if your not sure where to find it.

My Breeze is doing the same thing.
I seen repair manuals on CD on eBay for less than 10 bucks.
