I know what you mean about the two strokes. Always mixing and it seems like always rejetting. I just got my Warrior yesterday and it is running great. It is a 98 and I bought it on ebay. It is clean and in great condition. The best part is it was half price of a new one.

Motion Pro makes a specific twist throttle kit for the Warrior which includes a cable. It runs about $30-35, depending on he vendor. If you're buying a used machine (like I did), it probably needs a new throttle cable anyway.

My 87 warrior was fast also, would beat any other Warrior I raced by a decent margin used to **** them off. They have hardly changed a thing on them in years, which is good it works and is very reliable. I loved my Warrior. The Banshee is not nearly as good a trail machine as the Warrior I could beat Banshees in the woods easily.

Go with the Motion Pro throttle set up, it works great on my Warrior. You will also like the change of a 4 stroke after riding a 2 stroke bike, but keep that bike so you can have the best of both worlds.

but sandpits are not the only place to ride a Warrior. I used to smoke Blasters everywhere , mudding. climbing, racing and in sand pits.

Finally, what parts on a quad are notorious for breaking and what should I look for(other then the obvious) when pickin out my new beast.

Thanks again guys...

Get an aftermarket skid plate(DG makes a good one). I smash mine into the rear disk all the time. A good K&N filter would be a good place to start also. Don't take the warrior bashing to heart. Both my riding buddies have banshees and I have no trouble keeping up with them in the rough stuff. Although they smoke me bad when they get a chance to open up. If you can afford it get a new one. The old ones are recoil, the new ones are electric, but the 2001s have both. Big plus if your battery dies in the boonies. It's a fun machine that almost bullet proof(almost)

I own a 95 warrior, I have had it with that machine it is junk. I have broke a front shock, 2 a-arms, warped a rear disc and I even have a DG skid plate there to protect it, I have broke 2 pegs. I'm going to be selling my machine soon but as far as buying one I would reccomend another quad. possibly a 400ex or raptor or Ds or 250R.
I wouldn't buy one if I were you they are heavy and besides they don't wheely good.
