I have a Banshee with a 19cc cool head, T5 pipes, V-Force Delta 2 reeds and no porting as of yet. I would like to get your opinions on advancing the timing at this point. I have heard that some performance gains can be achieved from advancing the timing. I have also read that advancing the timing is only effective when the motor has been ported. Need some opinions so I can make up my mind. Thanks.

Vitto's makes a timing advance key for the banshee. It's advances the timing 4 degrees. It's only $20. It's just a tiny peice of metal that is definatly not worth $20 but, it's a lot cheaper than a timing advance plate. I just got mine... I'll have it in by saturday.

I have my engine ported, and I'm 5 degrees forward. I ran it without the timing plate first, then with it. I can notice some difference but not a huge amount. And thats with a 420 kit and MX porting.

My Bro failed to answer whether or not you need it. I've been told, when you add pipes and rev higher, you need to change the timing. So I did it too.

How can I get in touch with Vito's? Do you have a website or phone number? I have seen a dyno run and apparently the "key" added a couple of horsepower. I would like to check into it.

The phone number for Vitto's performance products is 1-248-969-9168. (I don't think they have a website.) And I didn't say if you needed it or not, because I'm not sure. I haven't put it in yet, so I don't know what performance gain you'll get.
