It will never happen, atleast not the blaster and banshee one. The banshee is a 350, if they made it a 350 4 stroke it would be the same kinda thing as the raptor 350. Also the blaster would become underpowered because its going from a 2 stroke to a 4.

what makes you think they are going going to keep the same displacement when every year atv's are getting bigger engines

My guess that if the blaster isnt a 2-stroke, it isnt goin to sell. i bought one because i knew the peppy lil 2-stroke engine was goin to be fun to build on. as for the banshee, i believe that it has already been replaced by the yfz450.

yamaha is pretty aggressive, but they have seemed to latch on to calling everything a Raptor now. thats where their market analysis led them... i dont see them bringing unique names back to quads in the immediate future. I dont think it would hurt, either, but that's their decision. I do see them adding more additions to this 'Raptor' line and even expanding the 'YFZ' line, possibly a 250cc 4stroke from their WR bikes.

I dont think we are too far off from seeing high performance 250cc four strokes from the OEMs. It would make sense for them to use some of that bike technology in their atvs more. i think they are finally learning this and putting it to the atv market ALOT sooner than in the past; though they may alter it from the way it is in the bikes.

Imagine a YFZ250. not hard to do. but it would cost more than the current blaster.

question is "would the cost be justifiable than just going with the 450 class machine?" i know it would sell but would it create canniblism in their lineup, stealing sales from their other class-defined bikes? it might, but if its a kick butt machine that is a notch lower than the YFZ450, sitting right in between the raptor 660 and 350 then it may have another niche.

just some babble to chew on here i guess...

Good lord...yet again another reason to dog on dealerships, they don't know crap! Ever noticed how closed up Yamaha is with there new machines? Noones know's what they are making and when they are going to be released EVER because Yamaha doesn't say! Look how suprised everyone was with the YFZ, Raptor, and Rhino...noone knew they were making them! It's the same with all their ATV's.

Making the Shee and Blaster into a 4 stroke is absolutly rediculous...period. They will make completly new bikes to replace them, they have already replaced the Shee IMO.
