I don't think the big bore kits are worth the time, money and loss in reliability. If you go on dogriders site, they have a video in their video cache that has a 470 YFZ racing a 439cc YFZ, both with the same mods and they are neck and neck until 3rd or 4th gear and then the 470 barely pulls away. Not a good investment in my opinion...a few more mods and the 439cc would have tied or beaten the big bore.
Im not trying to be rude. But your an idiot. The dogriders are also a bunch of idiots. If you think that the 470 is not worth the gains then why dont you come race me, schwendi, or thunderalley and watch us blow by you.

The 470 kit is by far one of the best mods for the yfz if you are looking for a lot more power. It is cheap and extremely reliable. I have not heard of one problem with the 470.
I think i read somewhere on their site and they said they didn't have something tuned right.

I think the topic in this thread was about a KFX400 built to 450 by Yoshi, your posts about a YFZ470 have nothing to do with the questions MURDR has.

Anyway I think you will be happy with your build-up MURDR, and Gust proves that it will take a slightly modded YFZ at most races he is in.

Have fun and update us when you get it.

The only thing different from your bike and someone elses is the 11cc's and possibly the pipe. I wouldn't expect any gain over another YFZ just from the 11cc's. It's nice being able to say you have a true YFZ-450 though huh?

Motor mods and the YFZ don't mix, I don't even understand why you would want to do anymore modifications, it's got them all from the factory! It costs alot and doesn't gain enough power, I mean comon over a grand for only around 5 HP AND less reliability?! I've never heard of a built YFZ making over 55 HP not running on nitrus or alcohol, kinda sad.

stevendsm95gst: I'd be more than happy to race one of those 470's, I think you'd be suprised how close it is, I'm sure you'll win but not by enough to make it worth the money spent at all.

"Im not trying to be rude. But your an idiot. The dogriders are also a bunch of idiots." How is that not rude? Also don't be so full of yourself and your bike, it's not very cool.

I am calm. I was trying to help MURDR out. I think there was only one other person who realized he was referring to a Yoshi KFX 450 build. The posts to the thread have only been about a YFZ big bore. So i was referring to everybody not just you Bubba. I am pretty sure MURDR is getting his KFX bored and wondering if anyone with a slightly modded YFZ has raced a Yoshi built KFX 450.

If I am grumpy, sorry. I have been sick today and i am taking some narcotic pain meds....so I am pretty screwed up in the head today....no telling what I might say.

Not to bark up anybody's tree or anything, but it does say in his sig. that he has a KFX 400. He also didn't say he had a YFZ450. He only says he's going to race one. But, going from a KFX 400 to a 450 is a large bore. Make sure you change the rod and everything with it cuz now you have a timebomb. But, in the same way, hope you have fun with it and hope you're one of the lucky ones that the motor lasts.
