today i started up my raptor(after it was warm) and went to take off and it stalled before i let out the clutch and made a loud clinging noise, like metal on metal. then it started up and ran like normal. what could this be?

my warrior almost always does it, i think it is just something kicking back, like a little play in the timing chain and the motor just yanks on it or something ?

That would be the starter clutch my good friend...better watch that really close or replace it with the L&A one way before it goes out completly.

i 2nd that comment

I waited,,,,and my bolts that hold my 1 way gear in place sheared off causing damage to my cam chain. Now I need to pull my top end.

If I had it to do over,,,I wish I had gone in and used some loctite on those bolts. They had loosened over time and you could see the wear from the kickback/stalling had taken its toll. (the 1 way gear was still in good shape)
