speedometor.... trail tech????
Raptorboy4life,
I have had the Trailtech speedomter on my Alba Raptor for 3 years now. It is accurate and the maintenance hour/clock works great also. Once it is installed you calibrate it with the wheel circumference and it is accurate enough. Hittin' fourth upa fire trail around 64-66. You glance at it
for a quick second and you have a grin on your face. I had it mounted to the plastic peace that goes around the key hole. www.trailtech.com. they gave two different mounting techniques
Options. One is billet aluminum. It's worth the 70.00. I love it.
2001 alba Raptor

I love my trailtech. It's as acurate or more acurate than any other mfg. speedo out there. All you need to do is measure the circumference of your front wheel (or measure the diameter and calc. the circ.) and plug that into the unit.
There is no maintenance on it other than changing the battery every 1.5 years (or whenever it dies). Keep track of the records on it .. i.e. how many miles and hours on it so that you don't be starting off at zero every time you change the battery.
The handlebar clamp is not bad. It gets hard to read on rough roads at high speed. I don't know what the limit is on it for reading speed, but I think I can safely say you're not getting there on a quad.
The only thing I would like on the unit I have is an illumination for night riding. It does have a built in illumination, but it's only momentary when you push a button .. and it lights up like an indiglo watch face for about 5 seconds.

The trailtech is a pretty sound speedo. I like mine. Just make sure you get it set right.
Don't bother with a gps for a speedometer. Aside from being expensive for that use, they calculate your average speed on 3 sec to as much as 10 sec intervals depending on the manufacturer. This makes them very inaccurate when accelerating or decelerating.
