Whats Speed shifting?

Never speed or power shift with a 2-stroke. You shouldn't do it with a 4-stroke but you can. When you let off on the throttle there is a slight pause before the compression takes over. It's during that pause when you shift without using the clutch. If you do it wrong you will know it because your gears will slam together. Also, if your going to do it, only do it when you are up-shifting.

I speed shift all the time. Been doing it for years on every 2-stroke I have ever had. I slightly let off the throttle while slightly pulling in the clutch and shifting. IMO, done correctly it wears the clutch more than the tranny.

If you're gonna speed shift get an override tranny, it makes it where 3rd through 5th gear are shaved and all it takes is a slight tap on the shifter to get it into gear. Very good for those draggin Shees out there that don't wanna use the clutch and don't wanna lose speed shifting.
