Default TRX300EX vs. Yamaha Raptor 350

300EX or Yamaha Raptor? All stock. What wins in trails, what wins with speed on the blacktop?
Thanks for your help.

Dude, im kinda in the same position as you, I cant deside which quad i want between these two, Ive done some research and im pretty sure that stock the raptor 350 could take a 300ex, however if your looking for reliability id say go with the honda Suspension wise i have no clue, sorry

Reliability? You do realize the Raptor 350 is nothing but a Warrior with new plastics right? There's not much on the trail these days as reliable as the gool old Warrior.

Handling I would say goes to the 300EX, as does suspsension .. but that's it.

yah i realize that the warrior is the raptor 350 with different plastic, but you have to look at the kind of problems that people have had with yamaha. Look at the 01 raptors transmission, and whats the oldest yamaha youve seen for sale in good condition?? IE honda, they have 3 wheelers from the early 80s for sale still running in great condition, and theyre quads are known to last also, that was all that i was saying, so dont take this the wrong way, i mean i love yamahas, but im just saying that the 300ex is more reliable and will last you longer.

Trails, there about equal. The 300ex has a little better handling and suspension are about equal, but besides this, nlwarrior01 is right thats it.Top speed the rap 350 has about 5 mph on the 300ex and in a drag on dirt the rap wins by about 1-2 quad lengths, this is due to the crappy stock tires on the rap.On pavement the rap wins by about 3-5 quad lengths. The 300ex does wheelie alot easier though and both have great reliability.

Customer service and reliabilty are different though. I agree that the newer Yammi's seem to be having more than their fair share of troubles, and compounded by Yamaha's lack of product support. But the Warrior (now Rap 350) is about as reliable as it gets. Longevity wise you'll find lots of old Warriors around, and with regards to being in decent shape .. that's all up to the owner.

You do realize that this is not a raptor 660R were talking about. And the raptor 350 its the same exact heart of a warrior with minor changes so its reliable.

OK here it is folks...this question gets asked weekly..

300ex has better suspension...warrior has top end cause of sixth gear...displacemnet

Absolutley everything when comparing these two quads is driver ability!

300 will be identintical to the warrior till 6th gear

-Handling:
300ex>350
-Suspension:
300ex>350
-Power:
300ex<350
-Speed:
300ex<350
-Relibilty
300ex=350 (Both are practically industructable engines IMO)
-Weight:
300ex<350 (22lbs lighter this time around)
-Best bang for your buck (new)
300ex<350 (IMO)
-Best Bang for your buck (used)
300ex>350 (just came out!)
Ergos:
300ex<350 (the 300ex is comforable but 350 feels better

I have riden a 300ex and own a warrior (and sat on a rap 350 @ the dealer) So i know somewhat what i'm taking about. Hope that helps!

Just like to say that my firend has a 1989 Yamaha Warrior, and it runs great, (and i'm serious here) He has hardly done ANY MAINTANCE! He still has a stock filter (which i don't approve) I'd have to say Warriors are good reliable machines
