well starting this thread is a given for arguing, so i guess a customary slap is in order for whoever started this. but in my opinion, id have to say bikes(even though i havent rode one, i dont really think it would be as fun as quads)

i think there about equal...but bikes do go way faster, but they are lighter than quads. but the bikes are more nimble and easier to handle than quads are on the trails.

if you want a 4 stroke just get a quad cause its that light weight snap as you leave the corners that makes a dirtbike fun and no 4 stroke bike will ever make the hair on the nape of my neck stand up
Have you ridden a yz250f lately?

you can get hurt on either one, a bike is eaiser to bail off of, a bike wont roll down a hill after you and crush you it will usually stop where it falls. but a ATV is way more forgiving untill you do lose it then it will usually put you in the hurt locker more than a bike, not talking about the little crashes I mean the big ones. I have a TT600 dirt bike and it throws me off all the time, but I never have been hurt more than will heal in a day or two, but I have only come off the raptor about 3 times in 2 years and got some good scrapes from those that took a few more days to heal up than I would have liked. In my opinion your more likley to come off a bike but less likely to get seriously hurt, but maybe I'm just lucky!!!

I've had "exciting" crashes on both. I'd rather crash a bike. Seems my quad crashes are typically worse since when ya go over ya get tangled up with the heavy quad more than with a bike. Although any crash on anything at speed has the potential for serious injury. Also, the quads seem to get damaged much more in a crash.

My opinion would be is if you never rode a dirt bike before, I would recommend you start with a lower cc four stroke first before move up to the 2 stroke, it'll be a little easier when first learning. My favorite bike is the RM 250 so you know were I'm at.
