Best TIRE Config for GRIZZ
#11
Dirt Devils are too heavy. Good pattern, but too heavy. I've looked at this a lot, and there is no perfect all around, but a few good ones no doubt. I hate ITP, but mudlites must be pretty close due to all the response they have got from each and every possible forum. Either that or they are cheap and enough people buy them and then brag them up. Possibly one of the best all arounds are Mudrunners which are expensive and you don't hear a lot about them, because few people will spend that kind of jack for a 25" tire.
All good mud tires suck on trails. Most good trail tires truly suck in mud. Its a tough one to pick. If I were guessing, I would go with Bighorns, but then again it seems like I've heard more complaints with problems with out of the round tires and other stuff on both Maxxis and ITP radial tires in the past year than I have with any other atv tire ever.
The rubberband tranny in the Griz does not cater to larger tires. I swear my old 500 AC didn't lose as much with 27's as my 660 does. Please Yamaha, manual shift 660 Grizzly option.

.........great snow tires, again the Mudrunners all the way. I always break the snow for my Polaris riding buddies.They/the Mudrunners/ are 4 ply and not that heavy after all. I've been using my 26inch. mudrunners all year this year, they are excellent trail tires. Much easier to steer than my front 25/12/10 spider traks!
The mudrunners are, as Andy mentioned, the best tires available w/o any doubt at least from my experience.
BTW, the mudrunners won all mud tire competitions in late 90's.
/I have 6000 miles on these tires , I put them immediately on when I bought my 02 G 660. They are still OK, not excellent or great, but pretty good after 6000 abusive miles on the soft surface mostly, some powesliding on the hard, gravel county roads apply,no pavement/.
