restoring plastics

I figured out a way to get fenders that are all scratched up lookin a lot better. If you take a fine grain steel wool and spray the steel wool with Simple Green you can get out most of the deep scratches and the dirt that is in it. the only problem with this method is that it really takes away from the shine on the fenders. I have two possibilities for this. One im trying right now and will let u know when it dries, is Armarol Tire Shine. I use this on my mostly unscratched fenders(my Blaster), and it works great. another possibility is clearcoating them but im not sure on that one because i dont have any, but i might be able to get a hold of some tomorrow from a friend. ill let you know how the shine works

Thanks for the info. Please keep us current on what you discover.
I personally clean my plastic up with Soft Scrub and lots of water. It takes all of the dirt out of the scatches, doesn't seem to harm the decals and, as of yet, doesn't seem to dull the finish too much!
Lots of water is important!
