Default woodruff key

can anyone tell me how to replace my woodruff key on a 98 wolverine? i just rebuilt the motor and replaced the carb, and my quad wont go any faster than idle speed, i can get it up to prob. about 30-35 but thats in 5th gear and it doesnt have any torque or accel. would a broken woodruff key have anything to do with this situation? im told that the engine would not even start if its broken. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi,

The woodruff key holds your flywheel in place. No, the bike would not start it the key sheared. I would double check your carb.

i tore down the entire motor again tonight, re-did my valves and timing/cam chain. still no luck, its not my carb, i just bought a brand new white bros. one. any other ideas?the bike starts fine and will cruise down the street at idle but whne i hit the gas i get no response, if i give it full throttle it sounds as if its going to stall out then i let off and it will backfire. im all out of ideas

Default woodruff key

maybe a weak cdi not burning the gas in the cylinder or a fouled plug
