Sheared Woodruff Key
#2
something would have to be loose or missing a certain bearing to do that, this is the key that sits in the crank then the flywheel/stator slides over it? if so there should be a cage bearing that slides onto the crank and it sits inside the flywheel/stator when u install it, if that bearing is gone that would prolly cause the key to break.
also one little trick is to try and make a little nick on the key so it has to be forced into place if you know what i mean that way it doesnt just sit in there loose, once i put a little nick into the side of it i use a hammer and gently tap the key in place.
