Rapto 660 vs. Grizzley 660
#12
it has independent rear suspension.....like a GRIZ, new for this year, and a low range for crawling and climbing, unlike the 'forward' on the 400. plus a new front end lock that gives you 'posi' in the front end.. pretty cool. all designed for tough trails, plowing, hard work.
It's not as huge as a GRIZ, a Grizzly FEELS big when you sit on it... the kodiak does not. Its not as powerful of course, but it's lighter too.
throw a leg over both of them and them pick the one you like. sounds like most of what you do is lower speeds, and thats where both of these quads shine: the rough technical stuff and hard work, like plowing and pulling. Either would be a good choice. If youre a large person you should lean toward the Griz - if youre a runt like me the kodiak would do just fine hehe.

I like both so I got both and have not regretted spending the money on either bike, best of both worlds.
As far as trading in your 04 raptor to the dealer I would not recommend it, they will try and low ball you big time on the trade in price.....you are a lot better off if you can sell it yourself thru the local paper, cycletrader, or even try ebay (though a lot of people are turned off by ebay because of all the scammers).
Another option would be to keep the raptor and start saving up and maybe in a year or so you would have the cash to buy one out right, or at least put a good size downpayment on one, just a thought

hey, try em both out....but with a winch and a plow and a 230 pound guy, you may be happier on the grizzler. who knows? the kodiak might be just what youre lookin for

I have found a few local dealers in my area that will let me ride thier machines. While you cant get a really good feel for them in a field or parking lot, its better than nothing. Perhaps a yammi dealer can let you on one of the grizzlys.

we have a 2 acre test track behind our store......but youre a long way from here!
if a dealer thinks youre serious, he'll prob let you ride one. try and find one with a little patch of offroad, theyre rare I know, but we needed a place to test bikes and quads as well as do the safety classes, so the boss bought the lot behind us. yeehaw
