You know I just looked up the tranny on the 1994 warrior and it shows 6 forward and one reverse gears.

I found it in the yamaha warrior parts breakdown ,Part number 13945-001 6th gear pinion. Bike bandit.com

As far as how much power a worn out engine has I would say less than 10 percent unless it has parts worn beyond minumum specs like cams,piston rings,valve lash.

wow my 2000 warrior has 6 speeds i dont know who told u only 2003 and up have 6 but it wrong. But i dont ride that much anymore my 2005 le is way faster. this thing freakinn rips what a rush

Are there two types Warriors or sumthing mine only has 5 and so Does the 94 that I own. Now im confused I always thought there were all 5 speed until 2003?

dude, i had a 1988 warrior it was a 6 speed. ALL warriors since 1987 are six speeds. the only changes other than colors and wheels and stupid piddly crap occured on the 1990 model when yamaha moved the engine back in the frame to reduce the front end weight problems and moved the lights up to the current location. they also took off the recoil backup starter and changed something with the float on the carborator.

six speed is great. i wish the OEMS would still do this. it makes for better gear ratios.
